» Profile
Tim Ames is a South Coast based, full-time professional entertainer. A versatile vocalist with a nice line in cheeky patter, he is a performer equally at home in venues as diverse as 5 star Mediterranean hotels; intimate cocktail lounges; adult-only resorts and family holiday parks. He is an accomplished singer of the Rat-Pack style swing standards which have seen such resurgence in recent years, but also takes great pleasure in reminding people of the great British vocalists of that era by performing lesser heard songs made famous by the likes of Matt Monro, Anthony Newley and Adam Faith. Combining these with sing-along crowd-pleasers from artists as varied as Neil Diamond; The Drifters; and even Morecombe and Wise, Tim always produces an evening with wide-ranging appeal.
Tim also offers two complete 60 minute cabarets making him ideal for cruise and fly-back bookings: ‘Songs from my side of the pond’, a classy fifties and sixties themed tribute to the great British Vocalists, ‘The merest whiff of... Tim Ames’, a cheesy, fun-filled hour of music and laughter. Or just book him, point him at an audience, and see where the evening goes."

"…audiences can just sit back and let his songs and gentle and inoffensive comedy patter swim over them. Ames gave us memories of the great Anthony Newley with a spirited version of ‘What Kind Of Fool Am I?’ and, to be succinct, I just loved the 'comfy armchair' approach."- Mark Ritchie, The Stage
"…the choice of the always genial Tim Ames was just about right to move things along, but without being too OTT."
- Derek Smith, The Stage
"Compering the evening and holding the whole thing together was Tim Ames. He has a bright, cheery approach, attacking the audience with tried and tested material."
- Mike Martin, The Stage
