The Flames were formed in May 1988 by guitarist John Burleigh and basist Roger Cover with Jeff Jeffery on rhythm guitar and Jeff Tuck on drums.Their music consists of late 50's/early 60's Rock n' Roll, with a professional attitude reflected with choreographed step routines, matching suits and pink Fender guitars. Their versatility of music is subject to hard core Rock n' Roll from the late 50's (Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly) to the early 60's British Rock n' Roll (Billy Fury, Johnny Kidd & The Pirates, Cliff & The Shadows, Marty Wilde) etc.
The Flames have worked continuously for the last 19 years and backed many original 50's & 60's artistes including: Wee Willie Harris, Terry Dene, John Leyton, Mike Berry, Tommy Bruce, Linda Gail Lewis and many more.
