» Profile
The Double Measures came about as a result of a genuine desire to provide something unique; a cover band of the highest quality, actively committed to capturing and recreating the authentic sound and feel of classic and modern funk, soul, and rock 'n' roll from the world's leading artists. The vision was to achieve this not only without the use of sequencers, backing tracks or sheet music, but also with a line-up of just 5 members, making the band notably more affordable to clients over comparable artistes covering similar material.
Over 30 auditions were held to seek out only the Midland's premiere professional soul musicians and singers - the resulting line-up features five guys all aged under 35, but with a combined total of over 80 years musical experience!
The bands repertoire of well-known songs is guaranteed to get any crowd singing and dancing, and because of the eclectic mix of catchy, funky, soulful and rockin' tunes from across the past five decades, there is bound to be something for everyone!
At weddings the band will happily take advanced requests for first and last dance songs.
The band provides a 500Watt PA system, which you are welcome to use for announcements, speeches and incidental music whenever needed. As Musicians Union members, the band are all fully insured for public liability cover, and all equipment is PAT tested in line with current regulations.
