The Blue Meanies are quite simply the ultimate Beatles band. Whilst possessing an unbelievable natural image, the voice and music that these boys create will have any true Beatles fan believing they have stepped back in time. As a Beatles tribute band they have so many levels to perform as songs can range from "I Want To Hold Your Hand" to "Glass Onion" and "Helter Skelter" to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". The ability to play any type of Beatles song combined with amazing matched voices of Paul (Tony Coburn), John (Jimmy Coburn) and Ringo (Stuart Simpson) is what makes this band the ultimate Beatles Experience.

The Blue Meanies were formed in 1997 and have achieved a massive following over the years. The band have gone from playing small pubs , all the way to performing on the same bill as Sir Paul McCartney at the Liverpool Empire in 2002. Now playing major Beatle Festivals across Europe, (Russia, Belgium, Spain, Holland) the band have took their Beatles repertoire to new heights. With a great mixture of hits album songs and B Sides the lads have a perfect Beatles set for everyone.

More recently The Blue Meanies played to 10,000 people at the Beatles forever Festival in Russia. They were actually chased back to their hotel rooms for autographs, just like scenes from the film Hard Day’s Night! With more big gigs in America on the horizon they look forward to making a return to the Matthew Street Festival this year.

The most important thing about The Blue Meanies is that people often comment on how natural they are, and also the fact they are not like a typical Beatles Tribute Band. The songs are performed the way they intended to be played and there is a very uncanny likeness to the real thing. Voted the best Beatles band in the world in a Russian poll this year these Liverpool lads are not to be missed!
