Ricky Rivers was born in South Wales. He became a fan of Elvis Presley at the young age of five after seeing him perform in the movie Jailhouse Rock, and at age 12, began playing guitar and keyboards. Within a couple of years, music had become a major part of his life.It was not until the tender age of 20 years old where Ricky had his sights set of following in the footsteps of his idol Elvis Presley. Ricky decided to pay tribute to the King of Rock n Roll when many people commented on his solo act saying, You Sound Like Elvis You Look Like Elvis as well as being a die hard fan since a young age, this encouraged him to perfect his act and pay a respectful tribute to Elvis Presley.
Over the last few years Ricky has played at many different venues around the world, appearances, Radio, TV, but his highlight so far was to perform at MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA. The Louisiana Hayride in the USA, one of the first tributes to Elvis to perform there since Elvis himself back in 1954. Exactly 54 years later Ricky performed 2 songs, thats Alright Mama and Hound Dog, with the Homade Jam band which, knocked everyone off their seats and dancing in the aisles.
He has already received many awards at competitions throughout the Country. Including Best GI and Best Comeback Special Elvis. The Ultimate Elvis People's Choice Award in the USA 2008 and More Recently Best Young Elvis Look-alike 2008 at London England. Best Young Elvis 2008-2009, Ultimate Tribute Bonanza winner Spain. Just to name a few.
Ricky Rivers provides the ultimate tribute to Elvis, working both as a tribute artist and look-a-like. He bears an uncanny resemblance to The King, and his performance features powerful vocals and moves, all backed by his superb live band. The spectacular performance features a tribute to both the early years and the Vegas concert years, providing a first class tribute covering the full spectrum of Elvis career. He is also a true fan of Elvis with a commitment to perform the closest tribute to the real thing, and this attention to detail has led to overwhelming success wherever he performs.
