Aphrodite is a rock and pop band touring extensively and relentlessly around the UK and beyond, bringing their infectious brand of entertainment to clubs, bars, bistros and numerous events in a never-ending circuit!

In an ever more gimmicky and synthetic musical era, Aphrodite prefers to concentrate on old-school musicianship with a rocky, no-nonsense approach which is both refreshing and exhilarating to see and hear.

Aphrodite’s show is self-contained, with high-quality sound and lighting systems, seamless costume-changes and a professional approach based on years of experience. It is carefully designed to appeal to a wide range of ages, tastes and venues, successfully combining rock, pop, punk, new wave, disco and more. However, Aphrodite also offers two specifically-themed shows - The 80's Invasion, an hour long Eighties tribute show and The Winter Wonder Band, which consists of an hour of party tunes with everyone’s favourite Christmas songs thrown into the mix.

The nucleus of Aphrodite has gathered over 20 years’ expertise in the live music business, and this shows in the band’s professionalism; it has also earned them a significant fan-base. Yet 2007’s explosive line-up changes have brought about the creation of The New Aphrodite, this new blood flowing through the band has given it a revitalized focus and attitude… they rock harder and better than ever!

Kerry Unsworth – Lead Vocals

Sexy, vivacious and unfeasibly talented, 20 year old Kerry is the new face and voice of the New Aphrodite. A relative newcomer to the business. Kerry was discovered singing in local nightclubs and bars, but was promptly snapped up by Aphrodite in early 2007, before anyone else spotted her! Until recently she was considering a career in law, in which she is already qualified.

Since joining the New Aphrodite, Kerry has impressed audiences with the depth, power and raw quality of her vocal performances, no trilling R 'n' B singer, Kerry's mature, resonant tones have won the band many new admirers. And she's only just getting started...

Michael Thompson – Vocals, Keyboard And Guitar

Michael is the founding member of Aphrodite: he has been there, done it and has the dodgy photos to prove it! Playing music is all he has ever wanted to do, and is all he has ever done! He has steered Aphrodite through good, bad, ugly, and (some plain weird) times, and still keeps coming back for more... Vastly experienced yet with enough musical and business acumen to stay ahead of the competition in an ever-changing music industry, Michael has shown great integrity and faith in the band he formed over 20 years ago.

A noted vocalist and front man, Michael is also the 'bandmaster', in charge of all the electronic devices which keep the music flowing. Not content with that, Michael, a classically trained pianist, is naturally a superb keyboard player. However, he has recently developed a staccato, riffing punk-guitar style with attitude, and is most likely to be found menacing the front row of the audience with his Ibanez!

David Byrne – Guitar And Vocals

David has a checkered history with Aphrodite going back far too long as a guitarist-for-hire when others let them down (why are guitarists so temperamental?), but finally got his chance to make his mark permanently in 1997, and now he just refuses to leave! A jack-of-all- trades (or just confused), he has had a colourful career outside the music business, gaining an English degree, teaching in France and serving as a police officer, before returning to his musical roots.
No megalomaniac fret- shedder, David was raised on 80's 'thinking mans' guitar-pop and considers himself a 'riff-merchant' who would love to have been in the Smiths in a different life! He has a bluesy, funky edge to his playing but he can suddenly stun you with a killer break when you least expect it!

Mike Sykes – Drums And Vocals

It is easy to spot a bad drummer (bad timing and bad attitude), but a good one just slots in almost unnoticed. Almost! Another new recruit, Mark has immediately graced the band on stage and off with his cerebral nature and innate musical sensibility. University educated, and with an enviable track record in a number of noted bands on the circuit, the in-demand drummer also boasts an impressive C.V as a recording session player and studio technician. An aficionado of musical styles from all over the world, Mark has brought a refreshing and challenging creativity to the New Aphrodite.

A Stylish and articulate player, Mark possesses that natural but elusive 'groove' that lesser drummers crave. His wide range of musical experiences and tastes result in an indefinable, subtle, varied, yet always appropriate, musical talent.
